Chicago based developer and general contractor Focus, celebrated the topping-off of our most recent 3rd party general contracting project, Savoy on the Park at 2340 N California Ave in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. The Focus professional construction team was joined by key stakeholders, tradesmen, and project leaders to celebrate the milestone with a barbeque lunch followed by a short get together at nearby Revolution Brewery.
Developed by a Joint venture of Savoy Development and the Hunt Companies, the 130,000 SF project is located at the corners of Fullerton, California and Milwaukee and will be the new home of 138 luxury apartments. Only a block from the California stop of the CTA Blue Line, the transit-oriented development is 6-stories tall with ground-floor retail, amenities including a fitness studio and rooftop terrace, as well as surface parking. The building was constructed using a mix of different building systems to maximize budget and quality. The ground-floor exterior is comprised of glazed masonry and thermally broken aluminum framing, while the upper floors include pre-finished metal panels and fiberglass windows. The first-floor podium is constructed of a steel frame and a poured in place concrete deck with the 5 floors above framed with light gauge metal and poured in place concrete. The developer expects the building to achieve LEED Silver once complete.
The developer expects the project to be complete in the Fall of 2018.
