As Senior Development Manager

As a development manager Sheila has played a key role on the design, development and construction for Porter in Oak Park, Illinois. Since delivery in 2024, Porter has since achieved stabilization and is achieving premium rents in the ultra-competitive Oak Park community, a Western Chicago suburb. In her role, Sheila is directly responsible for the financial success of the project, quality design, and disposition of the development projects where she is manager. With her background in construction, Sheila is uniquely qualified to act as an owner's advocate throughout the construction process. Sheila is currently leading the new Hawthorn Townhome Development in Vernon Hills and 1221 W Washington in Chicago's Fulton Market, currently under construction.

Lead real estate development projects from inception through completion with minimal oversight from senior leadership.
Represent Focus as owner, providing clear direction to consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Evaluate acquisition opportunities through due diligence, zoning analysis, architectural programming, conceptual design, and financial proformas.
Lead or co-lead zoning entitlement processes, including preparation for and attendance at municipal hearings and meetings.
Manage architects, engineers, attorneys, and other consultants from project initiation through construction documents and delivery.
Act as Owner’s Representative during construction in collaboration with the General Contractor.
Prepare and oversee business plans, ensuring compliance throughout the life of each development.
Maintain strong relationships with municipalities, partners, lenders, brokers, and project team members.
