On Thursday, June 14th, Focus was joined by partners Atlantic Realty Partners and bKL along with city officials, tenants and neighbors to celebrate the grand opening of the amenity space of the re-imagined SCIO at the Medical District.
The amenities connect the two apartment towers at 901 and 902 S Ashland in Chicago’s Medical District. While at the event, guests enjoyed live music, cocktails and treats including deluxe doughnuts and SCIO signature drinks. A beautiful night allowed guests and stakeholders to enjoy time around the new, resort style pool and fire pits.
28th Ward Alderman Jason Ervin joined Focus CEO Tim Anderson and ARP Vice President Andrew Aaronson in cutting a ribbon, commemorating the official opening of the new space. “We are so excited to officially open the new and improved SCIO at the Medical District. The enhanced homes and new amenities you’ve been enjoying tonight will offer a place for the community to meet, grow and experience life. Thank you to the city for their support and the dedication of the bKL and ARP teams, whose work made this possible,” said Focus CEO, Tim Anderson, “Focus is grateful for having been involved in such a succesSFul project”.
The project included the renovation of over 400 apartment units which make up the two towers on either side of a courtyard along Ashland between Polk and Taylor streets. In addition to the renovation, the SCIO team also built an entirely new amenity pavilion which includes a fitness center, conference rooms, game room and reservable private dining space. The all glass structure sits next to an outdoor sundeck with grilling stations and lounges, which surround the outdoor pool. The Focus team was lead by Senior Project Manager Joe Vartanian and was supported by Field Superintendent Eric Guajardo and Assistant Project Manager Brandon Martin.
Since completing the renovations and upgrades, SCIO has seen a sharp uptick in leasing rates and our team expect the trend to stay positive. To learn more about SCIO and the leasing opportunities, please visit sciochicago.com/.
