Ever wonder how they install the windows on all those glassy towers? The teams at 808 Cleveland have nearly completed the process on the 23-story building in Chicago's Near North neighborhood.
In this video you can see builders from trade partner Reflection Window + Wall conducting the process of installing each window, one by one. There are approximately 2,500 individual window panels which make up the facade of the building. At a pace of 40-45 windows installed per day, it takes teams 3 days to complete 1-story of facade. The glass panels that make up the facade at 808 not only look great, but they act as an important part of the building system by increasing energy efficiency and playing a direct role in controlling the internal climate of the building.
Focus is acting as the General Contractor for the 808 Cleveland project on behalf of clients DAC Developments and Bayview US Holdings. The high-rise tower adds luxury apartments, office and retail space to the River North neighborhood in downtown Chicago, Illinois. This important development also represents an important step forward in revitalizing a section of the city known as Cabrini-Green.
