Representatives from Focus, project consultants and trade partners came together in the recently completed structure for lunch and a prize raffle to mark the completion of the building structure today.
Since construction began in September of this year, progress on site has been quick. In just three months, teams have completed grading and demolition, the building pad and foundations, and installed the precast panels which together make up the bulk of the buildings structure. Precast concrete is a prefabricated materials which allows construction teams to erect structures in less time. Because there is no need for concrete curing or the complicated trade sequences required for structures with multiple materials, precast concrete can save valuable time.
Next up, teams will start work on the buildings mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, they will finalize the roof, the will pour a slab of concrete on grade inside the building and finally will install the masonry which will make up the buildings exterior. All of these steps have to happen before the interiors team can take over and begin the final touches on the state of the art electric vehicle facility. The 50,000 SF will be a sales, distribution and service center.
At today's event project leaders thanked the hardworking tradespeople who make the project possible. "We are grateful for the work you do everyday to make a project happen," said Executive Vice President of Construction, Josh Stark. "Your commitment to precision and quality not only delivers success for our clients but ensures the safety of everyone on the jobsite. Congratulations on achieving this milestone, we couldn't have done it without you."
In addition to a catered lunch and custom t-shirts, all tradespeople were entered into the topping out raffle which included prizes donated by ownership, our supply and consultant partners.
The electric vehicle facility in Northbrook facility will be delivered in the spring of 2024.
