Focus acted as developer and general contractor for the Courthouse Square project in downtown Wheaton. Designed to create a community in and around the fully renovated and restored DuPage County Courthouse, built in 1896 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places—the complex includes a 6-story, 149 apartment building, 50 midrise condominiums and 6 luxurious condominium homes in the historic courthouse. The adjacent, 1938 State’s Attorney Building was also restored and renovated to now include two office condominiums, a fitness center, and a hospitality suite. Airhart Construction, our development partner, further built out the community with 46 townhomes on the property.
Centered on the historic and completely restored Courthouse and State’s Attorney buildings, the complex consists of two six-story buildings connected by a link that contains its amenities. Interior finishes offer luxury residential quality with an emphasis on warm finishes and rich materials. The buildings are detailed in brick and stone to pay tribute to the adjacent historic structures. Overall, the buildings contain 243,043 GSF of floor area including the indoor parking.
Located close to Wheaton’s downtown shops and restaurants, the Courthouse Square residential community includes a mix of studios, one-bedroom, one-bedroom + den, two-bedroom, two-bedroom + den, and three-bedroom units.
