Evanston Place

The Evanston Place Apartments consist of two, 9-story apartment buildings containing 190 units in Downtown Evanston. The first phase of work included the renovation of 52 units (3-floors) within one occupied tower. All renovation work was completed, from start of demolition to turnover to owner, in 8 weeks. Work totaled 49,290 SF and included all new; cabinets and countertops in the kitchens and bathrooms, appliances including the installation of a washer and dryer combo unit, plumbing fixtures, shower surrounds, door hardware, light fixtures, flooring and window blinds. Teams also scraped off the popcorn ceilings, skim coating ceiling, and applied new paint throughout. A handful of units had some minor wall modifications to make 2 bedrooms units with a study into 3-bedroom units which included sprinkler modification.

This extremely tight time frame was met by working 6-day work-weeks, conducting field measurements well in advance of demolition and establishing material lead time schedules to ensure all material was in hand at the appropriate time.
