Focus announces the completion of construction at the Logan Apartments in Chicago.

Acting as the General Contractor, Focus wrapped up construction upon receiving a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the Logan Square mixed-use project, Logan Apartments, co-developed by Fifield Cos and Terraco.

Logan Apartments is a 327,500 SF apartment and retail project which includes two mixed-use buildings, one 5-story and one 6-story with 220 residential apartments. The 62,000 SF of first floor retail is now occupied by retailers such as Target, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Pure Barre, Verizon, Aligned Modern Health, amongst others. Amenities include an outdoor terrace with pool and indoor gym and lounge for residents plus 154 parking spaces.

Designed by Antunovich Associates, the buildings were built using structural steel podiums and cold form metal framing and the exterior includes a mix of brick veneer and metal panels. The two buildings are connected by a glass and steel pedestrian bridge spanning across the center drive aisle accessible via Milwaukee Avenue.

“We were thrilled to be involved in such an impactful project,” said Focus’ Senior Vice President of Construction, Josh Stark. “The Logan Apartments tranSFormed the once vacant Mega Mall site into an asset for the community.”

As the project was nearing completion, the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in a city-wide shut down. The Focus team expertly executed the real-time changes necessary to maintain safety onsite and were able, as an essential service, to continue construction without incident.
