Acting as general contractor, Focus completed the buildout of the 6th floor office suite located at 401 Michigan for Chicago based client, Akoya Capital. This turnkey project allowed the Focus team to participate in early design which helped us to maintain better control of the construction budget, saving the client money and time. The 5,000 SF space offers an open floorplan featuring perimeter offices surrounded with glass. The all glass design ensures that the entire space has an incredible view of the Chicago skyline including Tribune Tower Plaza and The Wrigley Building. The office also features a common area and kitchen space as well as conference rooms with video conferencing capabilities and a wellness room.
Build Value
A major requirement of this buildout was to minimize sound transfer between offices and within the common space. One of the ways the Focus team was able to decrease sound transfer was to increase the in-wall insulation while creating demising partitions between each office and insulating the perimeter convector cover chase. These steps ensured that the sound transmission between offices is minimal.
Managed by Focus’ interior construction division, this project was completed on-time and on-budget.
