(June 20, 2017 - Chicago, IL) Focus Development, one of Chicagoland’s premier developers was joined by Soul City Church, a Chicago organization with the vision to lead a movement that transforms the soul, the city and the world, to celebrate the topping off of the Soul City Church project last month. The project includes renovation of the existing church building and construction of a new, 45,000 square foot, 3-story addition to a church in the West Loop neighborhood of Chicago. The event included lunch for the dedicated group of tradesmen and woman who have been working to make the project a reality since the project kicked off in October of last year.
“We are glad that we were able to come together today to honor the work that each one of you has contributed to our church,” said Soul City Lead Pastor, Jeanne Stevens, “we have been blessed in our friendship with Tim (Focus CEO), and are grateful for our ability to merge friendship and business in order to develop such an impactful addition to our organization. One that we believe will have a truly great impact on the community.”
Located on the corner of Adams and Racine in Chicago’s West Loop, the Soul City Church renovation and addition includes a new slab on grade, steel structure with an insulated metal panel façade. The addition will include a new auditorium, covered parking, and office space for church staff. As Soul City is a non-profit organization, budget was a central concern of the bid process. Focus was able to offer a competitive advantage by utilizing experience, relationships with contractors, and ownership mentality to provide true value engineering and trade buyout to bring the project budget within the church’s specific constraints.
