Focus selected to act as the General Contractor for active adult community in Vernon Hills, IL

Chicago-based Focus has been selected to act as the general contractor for a new active adult community on behalf of client, Greystar.

Everleigh Vernon Hills, a 317,000 GSF multifamily community, will cater exclusively to 55+ active adults by offering well-appointed residences and best in class amenities. The centrally located community will feature 173 apartment units and a 218-space structured parking deck, as well as 14 detached duplex cottages with private garages. Residents will also have access to an amenity package which includes resident lounge and café, fitness center, creative arts room, business center, game room, theater, swimming pool, outdoor dining, fire pit and more.

Designed by Houston-based Meeks + Partners, the 4-story building will consist of a precast garage structure and wood-frame residential portions.

The Focus construction team was selected due in part to their multifamily experience, especially in Vernon Hills, and their ability to work with the design team through the preconstruction process to ensure the efficiency of the design.

The Focus preconstruction was led by Director of Preconstruction David Hanner and the construction team is led by Project Manager Jill Fiandaca. They are supported by Superintendent Jeff Biagini, Assistant Project Manager Alberto Gomez Jr. and Project Engineer David Merz. Focus anticipates the project will break ground in May 2021 and will be competed in the early fall of 2022.
