Project Engineer

Responsibilities

Support the Senior Project Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, and Vice President of Construction across drawing management, submittals, bidding, and close-out. In this role, you'll keep project documentation organized and moving—managing drawing sets, submittal logs, RFIs, and bid packages through Procore—while supporting the broader team with construction office setup, safety programs, and other tasks as needed.

Drawing Management

  • Track drawing issuances, maintain updated and retired sets, and coordinate distribution to consultants, subcontractors, and trades through Procore.
  • Obtain stamped permit sets and provide copies to the field trailer.
  • Compile and maintain Record and As-Built sets for permanent storage, keeping server files organized.

Submittals & Bidding Support

  • Set up and maintain the submittal log in Procore, coordinating distribution and follow-up with subcontractors.
  • Support in-house submittal review ahead of the consultant review process, and manage submittals through to final log-in.
  • Assist the project manager in preparing bid packages, compiling bidders lists, and qualifying bidders; scope and award smaller trades with PM support.

RFIs & Sketches

  • Set up and maintain the project Sketch Log and RFI Log in Procore.
  • Log, distribute, and track RFIs and sketches, following up weekly on outstanding items.

Close-Out Support

  • Assist with construction office build-out and support of the project's safety program.
  • Collect and distribute O&M manuals, warranties, and as-built drawings from subcontractors ahead of final completion.
  • Support punch list compilation, management, and completion.

Skills/Requirements

  • 0–3 years of experience, with a strong interest in multifamily and/or commercial construction.
  • Self-motivated and confident, with strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Proficiency with Procore or similar construction management software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance coverage, and access to a vehicle; minimal travel required.

Education

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Studies, or equivalent experience.
